FAQ

Can I buy extra baggage online after booking?

Yes, for tickets issued on the official Georgian Airways website, at the ticket office, or via the call center: retrieve your booking online and add a 23 kg or 32 kg additional bag. Tickets bought from an agency or another website cannot be topped up online — the issuing agency must process it.

Where do I buy extra baggage?

Online at georgian-airways.com/en/booking/#/find for Georgian Airways-issued tickets. For agency-issued tickets, contact the issuing agency, the Georgian Airways call center (info@georgian-airways.com, +995 322 111 220), or buy at the airport before departure.

What are the free baggage allowances and bag limits?

Economy Light: one 8 kg hand bag only, no checked bag. Economy Standard/Flexi: one 8 kg hand bag and one 23 kg checked bag. Premium Economy and Business: two 12 kg hand items and two 32 kg checked bags. Purchased extra bags are sold as 23 kg or 32 kg pieces. Children 2–12 get the adult allowance; infants under 2 get 5 kg hand baggage and a 10 kg checked bag plus stroller or car seat.

When should I buy extra baggage?

The airline publishes no deadline or discount window for online purchase — you can add baggage after booking while your flight is open. For agency-issued tickets, additional baggage can be bought before departure from the agency or at the airport.

How does Georgian Airways calculate extra baggage charges?

Fixed per-bag EUR rates by destination: 150 EUR for a 23 kg bag and 200 EUR for a 32 kg bag to Europe; 65 EUR and 85 EUR respectively to Israel. No per-kg excess rates are published — the Conditions of Carriage state excess baggage is charged at rates available on request.

What are the overweight or oversized baggage rules?

No fixed fees are published for overweight or oversized baggage. Special baggage that exceeds the checked-baggage dimension norm (e.g. sports equipment, musical instruments) must be arranged in advance by phone (+995 322 111 220) or email (info@georgian-airways.com), and sports equipment is accepted as extra luggage only with preliminary booking.

Can I get a refund for prepaid extra baggage if I return my ticket?

No — ancillary services are not refundable when the ticket is returned, for both Economy and Business class tickets.

Do codeshare flights have different baggage rules?

Georgian Airways' conditions apply only to flights where its code (A9) is shown in the carrier box. On codeshare services another carrier may operate the aircraft; the operating carrier is advised at the time of reservation.

Are there any important exceptions or restrictions I should know?

Tickets issued by agencies or other online websites can only add baggage through the issuing agency, the call center, or at the airport. Sports equipment such as bicycles, ski, golf and fishing gear is carried as extra luggage only with preliminary booking at the fixed rates above.
