  1. Go to AveloAir.com and book a flight, or after booking select 'Manage Trips' and enter your Last Name and Confirmation Code to retrieve your reservation.
  2. During the booking flow, select the baggage options you need (carry-on and/or checked bags) before completing payment.
  3. If adding bags after booking, go to Manage Trips, retrieve your reservation, select 'Add Baggage', choose the bag options you need, and complete payment.
  4. Alternatively, call the Customer Solutions Center at (346) 616-9500 to add bags.
  5. You will receive a confirmation email with the updated itinerary including the purchased baggage.

How many extra bags can I buy, and what are the bag limits?

Each customer may check up to ten (10) bags. Standard checked bags must weigh no more than 50 lbs (22 kg) and measure no more than 62 linear inches (157 cm) total (length + width + height). Carry-on bags must not exceed 22"L x 14"H x 9"W and must fit in the overhead bin.

What are the overweight or oversized baggage rules?

Overweight bags (51–70 lbs) incur an additional $100 fee. Oversized bags (63–80 linear inches) incur an additional $100 fee. Bags that are both overweight and oversized incur an additional $200 fee. Bags over 70 lbs or 80 linear inches are not accepted.

Is it cheaper to buy extra baggage online vs at the airport?

Yes. Purchasing baggage during your initial reservation on AveloAir.com is cheaper than buying at the airport. Airport checked and carry-on bags cost more.

Are there exceptions for military members?

Yes. Active-duty military members on official or personal travel who present a current military ID may bring one carry-on bag for free and check up to two bags for free, and are not subject to excess, oversized, or overweight baggage charges (up to 70 lbs per bag).

Do partner-operated or codeshare flights have different baggage rules?

Avelo operates all its flights as nonstop services. For connecting travel involving other airlines, the baggage rules of the operating carrier apply.

What payment methods are accepted for extra baggage?

Standard credit and debit cards are accepted for online purchases on AveloAir.com and via the Customer Solutions Center.

Can I get a refund or transfer extra baggage if I cancel or change my booking?

Baggage fees are non-refundable per Avelo's Contract of Carriage. If you cancel a flight, purchased optional services including baggage are forfeited. For change-related inquiries, contact the Customer Solutions Center at (346) 616-9500.
