When should I buy extra baggage?

Buy during booking for the cheapest price. Prices increase at check-in and are highest at the airport. Online prices are always lower than airport prices.

How do online prices compare to airport prices?

Online prices are always lower than airport prices. The 15kg option is not available for airport purchase. For 23kg, airport prices are roughly double online prices on some routes.

How many extra bags can I buy, and what are the limits?

Maximum 9 bags per passenger including free allowance. Maximum weight per bag is 32kg; bags over 32kg are not accepted. Maximum size is 158cm total (H+W+D) including handles and wheels.

Can I get a refund on extra baggage?

No. Once purchased, extra bags cannot be cancelled or refunded.

How does Iberia calculate extra baggage charges?

Pricing depends on weight tier (15kg, 23kg, or 32kg), route type (domestic, European/African/Middle Eastern, or long-haul), and purchase timing. Specific routes like Dakar and Santo Domingo have separate pricing. A baggage calculator is available on the website for price estimates.

Overweight bags are charged at EUR 12-15/kg at the airport depending on route. The size limit is 158cm total dimensions. Peru and Ecuador routes only offer the 23kg weight option.
