Steps

  1. Go to rex.com.au and open 'Manage Bookings', or add 'Additional Baggage' while buying your ticket in the booking flow.
  2. On the Manage Booking page (mbe.rex.com.au), enter your Booking Reference, First Name and Last Name, then click 'Retrieve Booking'.
  3. Select the 'Additional Baggage' option and choose the number of 5 kg bundles you need.
  4. Complete the online payment to add the pre-purchased baggage allowance to your booking.

Additional Baggage (pre-purchase)

Additional weight is pre-purchased in 5 kg bundles; buying in advance is cheaper than paying excess baggage at the airport.

Excess baggage (overweight)

Any weight over the free checked allowance is charged per kilogram at the airport.

  • Per kg over allowance$5.50 per kg (incl. GST)
    • Charged at the airport for each kilogram over the free checked baggage allowance, including carry-on baggage that is offloaded.
    • Maximum 32 kg per piece at the airport; items over 32 kg are consigned as air freight.
    • Total excess baggage over 100 kg is not accepted and must be processed at a cargo outlet.

Oversize baggage

A fixed per-piece fee applies when a checked item exceeds the linear dimension limit.

  • Over 140 cm linear (h + w + d)$16.50 per piece (incl. GST)
    • Charged when total linear dimensions (height + width + depth) exceed 140 cm.
    • The maximum length of any oversized item is 2 m.
    • Oversize items that also exceed the weight allowance are subject to excess baggage charges as well.
