FAQ

Can I buy extra baggage online after booking?

Yes. Add checked baggage during the booking process on tuifly.com, or afterwards in 'My trips'. If you have not checked in yet, pre-booked checked baggage can be added until 12 hours before departure.

Where do I buy extra baggage?

During the flight booking on tuifly.com, afterwards in 'My trips' on tuifly.com, via your travel agent, or by phone at +49 511 8798 9833.

When should I buy extra baggage?

At booking, or up to 12 hours before departure via 'My trips' if you have not yet checked in. Buying in advance is cheaper than paying at the airport.

Is it cheaper to buy extra baggage online than at the airport?

Yes. Pre-booked 20 kg starts at EUR 32 on European/Mediterranean routes, while 0–20 kg bought at the airport costs EUR 50, plus EUR 17 per additional kilogram.

What is the baggage allowance and how much baggage can I take?

Not all fares include hold baggage: Base fare includes 0 kg, Better 20 kg, Best 25 kg, and Premium (long-haul only) 25 kg. Up to 2 hold bags per person, max 32 kg per piece and max 50 kg per passenger depending on destination. Everyone may take one small personal item in the cabin; a large hand luggage (10 kg) can be pre-booked.

How are extra baggage charges calculated?

Weight-based: you choose a weight option (20, 25, 30, 40 or 50 kg, plus a 10 kg large hand luggage). Published starting prices depend on the route group (Europe/Mediterranean vs long-haul) and your fare; the exact price for your route and travel dates is shown when booking.

What are the overweight baggage rules?

If your checked baggage exceeds the pre-booked weight you pay at the airport: EUR 17 per kg on European/Mediterranean routes and EUR 22 per kg on long-haul routes. A single piece may not exceed 32 kg; heavier weight must be split over multiple pieces.

Are there any important exceptions I should know about?

Departures from the Netherlands follow different baggage conditions (see the Dutch TUI website). Flights to and from Antwerp have a 25 kg baggage limit. For bookings of more than 9 people, contact your booking agent to add baggage. Long-haul is defined as Cape Verde, Senegal, Gambia and flights over 8 hours.
