Buy Baggage

Go to garuda-indonesia.com and click 'Manage Booking' or open the FlyGaruda app.
Enter your booking reference and last name to retrieve your reservation.
Select 'Prepaid Baggage' and choose the weight package (5–40 kg in 5 kg increments).
Review the price and complete payment at least 6 hours before departure.

How does Garuda Indonesia calculate prepaid baggage charges?

Domestic routes use a 3-zone system with prices per 5 kg (IDR 187,500–337,500). International outbound routes use a 3-zone system (IDR 480,000–672,000 per 5 kg). Packages are available in 5 kg increments: 5, 10, 15, 20, 25, 30, 35, or 40 kg.

How much prepaid baggage can I buy?

Choose from 8 packages: 5, 10, 15, 20, 25, 30, 35, or 40 kg. One passenger may purchase only one package per sector.

Can I get a refund on prepaid baggage?

A 25% penalty from the basic fare of the prepaid baggage rate applies for refunds. Partial weight usage is not refundable. Refund requests for unused prepaid baggage must be submitted within 6 hours of the cancelled departure. Full refund applies if the airline cancels the flight.

Are there restrictions on prepaid baggage for codeshare flights?

Yes. Prepaid baggage is not valid for interline (codeshare) flights with other airlines. It is only valid for Garuda Indonesia (GA) operated flights.
